Bettina Köster

Bettina Köster (born June 15, 1959 in Herford, Germany – died March 16, 2026 in Capaccio Paestum, Italy, aged 66) was a German musician, composer, poet, producer, and author. She was a leading figure in early West-Berlin’s then underground, avant-garde and post-punk scene of the late 1970s and early 1980s, where she was involved in the worlds of punk, art and experimental music. She was co-founder of the influential New Wave bands Mania D. and Malaria!.
