Vernon Reid

Vernon Alphonsus Reid (born 22 August 1958 London, England) is an American guitarist, songwriter, composer, and bandleader. He started his musical career in the 1970s as an RnB musician, before he started to play for Ronald Shannon Jackson and The Decoding Society. In 1984, Vernon co-founded black Rock band Living Colour. The band had big success until 1995, when the band split. In 2000, the band reunited. Reid had many side projects and worked a lot as session musician.In 1985, he co-founded the Black Rock Coalition, which supported coloured musicians in the Rock business.
