Lars Peter Nilsson

Swedish jazz drummer based in Malmö, born on September 23, 1976 in Eslöv, Skåne. Nilsson's drumming can be heard on many recordings, with the likes of Plunge, The Opposite, Loïc Dequidt Quartet, Lim, Anders Nilsson's Aorta and 15,5. In fact, he appears on more than 50 albums and has toured extensively in over 20 countries, in Europe as well as in Argentina, Azerbajdzjan, Mexico and the US. He has worked with artists such as Cecilia Persson, Paul Bley, Miroslav Vitouš, David Liebman, Marc Ducret, Bobo Stenson, Marilyn Mazur, Palle Danielsson, Kenny Werner, Tony Malaby, Michael Formanek, Mark Helias, and Tolvan Big Band, among many others. Nilsson was a co-founder at Kopasetic Productions, in 2003, an independent musician-run production and record label based in the Malmö/Lund area in Sweden. Nilsson is the head of the jazz program at Musikhögskolan I Malmö, where he also teaches in History of Music and Jazz Ensemble. His earlier job experiences include work at Jazz i Malmö and at Gula Studion.
