American soul jazz vibraphonist.
His interest in the vibraphone began while he was stationed in the army in 1958.
He began his career as a sideman for organist Johnny “Hammond” Smith before recording six solo albums for Prestige and one solo cut on the short lived jazz imprint Cobblestone before leaving the industry behind.
He later left the states as he felt his talent went unoticed and settled in Africa for over 4 decades before passing away at the age of 76.
