He was involved with the World Prophetic Ministry owned by Howard C. Estep. The organization was located in Colton, California and had the telecasts "The King is Coming", "What's Your Question", and the "Teaching the Bible" radio broadcast from 1976-1987. Alpers won the award for Best Male Vocalist from the National Evangelical Film Foundation in 1972.
