German trumpeter, bassist, trombone and flugelhorn player, as well as composer. He was connected with the Mannheim region and died there on September 27, 2014.
Metz was a founding member of the Hit Kids in 1965 in Mannheim, when he was student at a music school there. Shortly later, after Joy Fleming joined the band, he was part of the successor Joy & The Hit Kids, which renamed in 1969 to Joy Unlimited. He stayed together with the band until 1975, but was no more part of the line-up in 1976 and 1977.
Metz stayed in the Mannheim region as studio musician and had a couple of live bands, where he played mainly trumpet, e.g. with bandleader Hans Heiser and his Swing band Swingtime.
