Bogumiła Julia Kaczmarska was born on April 6th, 1927 in Warsaw. She was an internationally acclaimed coloratura soprano trained by Ada Sari. The public nicknamed her "The Warsaw Nightingale". She was known for her wide vocal range spanning up to C7 and bird-like ornaments. She died on May 10th, 2002 in Warsaw. Her husband was Jerzy Sokorski, a famous pianist and composer.
