American songwriter, singer and publisher. Born February 24, 1925 in New York City, New York, USA. Died November 2, 1994 in Paramus, New Jersey, USA. Wife of George Brown (6). Merrell wrote "Baby Lover" for Petula Clark, "Don't Take It Out on This World" for the Adam's Apples, and other hits. Early in her career, Merrell performed in Manhattan nightclubs with the Sammy Kaye Band and with Sammy Davis Jr. and others.
