Mexican composer of boleros and rancheras songs, film producer and actor in the golden age of Mexican cinema (Mexico City, August 16, 1906 - October 8, 1989). He is considered as the co-writer, with Elpidio Ramirez, of the song "Malagueña Salerosa", though the validity of that authorship is now questioned, the song being considered as an anonymous song together with several tunes from la Huasteca which are known as huapango songs.
