Gilberto Amaro do Nascimento, aka Giba Giba, was a Brazilian percussionist and singer-songwriter (b. 06 December 1940, Pelotas, RS — d. 03 February 2014, Porto Alegre, RS). He became known for playing a particular type of drum called "sopapo". Cultural activist linked to black movements, he was also one of the founders and first president of the S.R.B.C. Academia De Samba Praiana from Porto Alegre.
