American stage and film actress, dancer and singer. Born June 7, 1924, Chicago, Illinois, USA. Died June 26, 2002, New York City, New York, USA. Shed had an over six-decade career in nightclubs, cabaret, radio, recordings, TV, film and Broadway. Gray performed for 17 years with a bullet lodged in her left lung, a wound suffered in a drive-by shooting in Los Angeles in 1943.
