Swedish symphonic wind orchestra in Karlskoga formed in 1918 and initially consisted of a brass octet. The first leader was the music sergeant and flutist Acke Pettersson. He was replaced by Eric Gustafson, who came to be the choir's conductor until 1950, when his son Stig Gustafson took over the task of leading the choir until 1991. During the 1920s and 30s, the number of musicians was increased and the crew was expanded with woodwinds to eventually have a wind symphonic crew. Bofors Musikkår gives at least two of its own concerts per year and does numerous commission gigs in the region. The orchestra has made a large number of foreign tours and won several first prizes in international competitions. During the 2000s, the corps has collaborated with, among others, Roger Pontare, Triple & Touch, Nils Landgren, The Brazz Brothers and Jan Johansen.
