French-American organist for theatre, radio and TV. He was a vaudeville conductor, accordionist, composer and commercial jingle writer. He was the house organist for Kapp Records. Gart was a child prodigy pianist. In his teens, he began working professionally as an accompanist. In the 1930s, he moved to the U.S., transitioning from an organist in a movie theater to conducting a full theater orchestra at Loew's in New York. Gart briefly led his own dance band, playing in hotels in New York and London before shifting to radio. At CBS, he served as musical director, arranger, and conductor for various radio shows. In the late 1940s, he moved to television, working on game and variety shows. Gart was among the early artists signed to Kapp Records, becoming their house organist. He also toured as a demonstrator for Conn electronic organs, which he played exclusively on his albums. Born 23 April 1893, France. Died December 1990 (aged 97) in Flushing, New York, USA.
