Kubero Díaz

Juan Fernando Díaz, known as Kubero Díaz, is an influential Argentine guitarist, singer, and composer born in 1949. He rose to prominence in the late 1960s as the leader of La Cofradía de la Flor Solar, a pioneering psychedelic rock band rooted in a hippie commune in La Plata. Shortly after, he joined the legendary hard-rock supergroup La Pesada, collaborating with iconic figures of early Argentine rock and releasing his first solo album in 1973. Due to the political turmoil and persecution of musicians in Argentina during the mid-1970s, Díaz went into exile, living and performing across Europe for nearly a decade. Upon his return in the 1980s, he joined the highly popular pop-rock band Los Abuelos de la Nada, contributing to major hits like "Himno de mi corazón". Following the death of frontman Miguel Abuelo, he relocated to Búzios, Brazil, where he resided for 15 years. In recent decades, Díaz returned to Argentina, working extensively as a guitarist for folk-rock legend León Gieco and reviving his own recording career.
