Eatliz is an Israeli crossover prog band originally formed in 2001. Guitarist Guy Ben SHETRIT of the punk rock band INFECTZIA wanted a serious project for his music as opposed to the more humorous INFECTZIA. Over the next five years, the band gained a following from their extensive gigging. The band recorded two demo tapes, though they were never released as the members of the band were constantly fluctuating. "Violently Delicate" was the culmination of years of work, mostly by SHETRIT and previous singer, Maya DUNITZ with her replacement, then current Lee TRIFFON, singing only two of the songs on the CD. The band at this point consisted of singer Lee TRIFFON, SHETRIT, Amit EREZ and Or BAHIR all on guitar, Omry HANGEBY on drums and Adam SHEFFLAN on bass. The band started to gain a following as their first single, 'Attractive' received airplay on alternative rock stations in both Israel and Germany. The band also added to their following with the production of innovative videos featuring distinctive animation. 'Violently Delicate' produced a second single, 'Hey', which received numerous awards for the animated video. In 2009, the band released an EP of material from the "Violently Delicate" recording sessions, ironically named "Delicately Violent". Hadar GREEN replaced SHEFFLAN on bass in late 2008. The band continued their focus on live shows and finally released their follow up CD, "Teasing Nature" in October, 2010. The band continued to tour in support of the CD, gaining international acclaim as they opened up for notables ZAPPA PLAYS ZAPPA and PORCUPINE TREE. In 2012, the band went through another upheaval as singer Lee TRIFFON and Amit EREZ both left the band. EREZ had a desire to work on his solo project while TRIFFON cited 'artistic differences' as her reason. The band recruited singer Sivan ABELSON and guitarist Omer HERSHMAN (PANIC ENSEMBLE) to replace the pair. In 2013, Noam SHAHAM replaced Hadar GREEN on bass. The band released their third full length CD, "All of It" in 2014, their first single, 'Miserable' showcases new singer, Sivan ABLESON's haunting voice along with the stylistic video accompanying the single. EATLIZ may appeal to fans of harder edged alt rock with strong feminine vocals.
