Swedish musician and music producer, born on December 31, 1943 in Högalid, Stockholm Södermanland, and died on August 1, 2022 in Estepona, in the province of Málaga, Spain. In the early 1960s, Carlquist was a member of the band The Ghost Riders, originating from Trollhättan. In 1965, he assumed the role of leader for the band Swede Singers, which released a music album in the following year, produced by Sven-Olof Walldoff. By 1968, he established the band The Gimmicks, which released a series of music albums until its disbandment in 1976. From the mid-1970s onward, he also engaged as a music producer at the record company Polydor Records, where he collaborated with notable artists including Tomas Ledin and Björn J:son Lindh, among others. At the time of Leif Carlqvist's death on August 1, 2022, in Estepona, in the province of Málaga, Spain, he owned and operated the Flying Frogs Recording Studio there. He was, however, buried on September 6, 2022, at Ramneröd Cemetery in Uddevalla, Sweden.
