English pop singer, who was popular in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Born August 13, 1941 in Newport, Isle Of Wight , United Kingdom. Douglas hit #1 in the UK with "Only Sixteen" (1959), selling more copies in the UK than Sam Cooke's original version. He charted eleven times, seven of them in the top 10 in the UK, never in the U.S., between 1959-63.
