He graduated from the State Conservatory in Tbilisi, Georgia, with an Honors Diploma as a violinist. From 1980 to 1983, he was an assistant to Professor V. Klimov at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow. In 1977, he won first prize at the 5th Caucasus Violinists Competition. In 1978, he won the Herbert von Karajan Competition in West Berlin, receiving a high personal score from H. v. Karajan. In 1979, he was the winner of the 1st USSR String Quartet Competition. He has worked as a concert conductor with the Georgian State Symphony Orchestra under D. Kakhidze and has performed as a soloist in concertos of J. S. Bach, A. Vivaldi, W. A. ​​Mozart, J. Sibelius, P. I. Tchaikovsky, and new works by Georgian and Russian composers. A. Detisov was invited as concertmaster of the Moscow State Symphony Orchestra by principal conductors V. Dudarova and P. Kogan, and worked with renowned conductors and performers such as G. Rozhdestvensky, M. Rostropovich, V. Gergiev, D. Kitaenko, G. Sokolov, N. Gutman, and V. Tretyakov. He moved to Spain with the Moscow Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra and V. Spivakov. He also performed with the Spivakov Quartet and the Moscow String Quartet. His concerts, cycles, and CD recordings of Tchaikovsky and Borodin received excellent reviews. He has a CD of music by M. Giuliani and recordings of Romantic sonatas for Spanish classical radio by J. Brahms, R. Schumann, C. Cui, A. Rubinstein, N. Medtner, A. Grechaninov, and A. Gaos, in collaboration with J. Otero and I. Timchenko. In 2012, he played in the premiere of a new violin concerto by M. Moreno-Buendía. For several years, he was a guest lecturer at the Reina Sofía School of Music in Madrid. He currently teaches at the Progreso Musical Secondary School (Madrid) and gives masterclasses in various parts of Spain: Madrid, Asturias, Castellón, Valencia, Badajoz, Burgos, and Orihuela.
