World-Class Trumpeter, Composer, Bandleader, Educator, and Latin Grammy Winner. Born in the Bronx, New York, of Puerto Rican ancestry. A Student from the School of Arts in Caguas, Conservatory of Music and University of Puerto Rico, and City College in New York, at age 20, earned the first trumpet slot in the band of heralded pianist Eddie Palmieri, with whom he toured and recorded. Recognized as a hot trumpeter of the Latin jazz, he has interpreted and recorded among artists like: Tito Puente, Dizzy Gillespie, McCoy Tyner, Wynton Marsalis, Dave Valentin, Hilton Ruiz, Paquito de Rivera, and many more.
