American composer, songwriter, producer and musician born on October 22, 1966, in Los Angeles, California but was raised in Seattle, Washington and Cincinnati, Ohio. Residing now in New York, USA. Wrote Smooth for Santana. Former Member of Groove Collective. Itaal Shur is most known for co-writing the song "Smooth" with Rob Thomas for Santana, which sold over 25 million copies and won the Grammy for "most song of the Year in 1999." Additionally, in 2004, Robi Rosa's song "Mas Y Mas" earned him a nomination for Best Song of the Year at the Latin Grammy Awards. He has written songs for Maxwell, Jewel, Santana, Ricky Martin, Cyndi Lauper, Enrique Iglesias, Lucy Woodward and more. He was a founding member of the Groove Collective and has released a number of solo projects under various identities, including "Big Muff" and "Milk and Honey".
