American composer. Born June 21, 1907 in Des Moines, Iowa, USA. Died August 5, 1957 in Fire Island, New York, USA. Married to Alice Pearce (1948-1957, his death). He wrote music for Broadway shows and the recording industry. Probably best known for the songs: "I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas", "There Never Was A Night So Beautiful" and "It's a Big, Wide, Wonderful World". Rox was instrumental in helping to put together wife's nightclub acts during the 1940s.
