London-based Hard Dance DJ & producer (born 23 April 1977, died 6 June 2025). She operated under the name *Ting* and later The *Ting* (with asterisks) and did change her name legally to Ting-A-Ling at one point.
She cut her teeth DJing at a variety of underground clubs and events in 1997 and gradually built up a following in both the Hard Dance and Fetish scenes throughout London and beyond. She played a combination from Hard Dance and Nu-NRG right through the spectrum to much funkier breaks and uplifting beats or the harder edges of Freeform. She strongly believed that it is vital to bring a warm, mesmeric vibe to her performances, and consequently brought love and life to the DJ booth and to the crowd around her. Her musical performance was definitely greater than the sum of the individual parts. She also co-produced several releases, some with her own vocals, and mixed Extreme Clubbing 4 on Torture Garden Records where she worked for some time.
