Swedish metal/hard rock band, formed around 1977, active in the early 1980s with Carola Häggkvist, vocals, Anders Aldrin, guitar and vocals, Pontus Holmgren, guitar, Benny Andersson, bass and Johan Norgren, drums.
They initially rehearsed at a daycare center in Mälarhöjden. The recordings with Carola as vocalist were made during 1981–1983 and the LP Standby with Carola Häggkvist was released by Rosa Honung in 1983. Later that year, after Carola left the band for her solo career, the single Boys And Girls/Firescape was released, with guitarist Aldrin on vocals. The band also participates with five tracks on the compilation album Vågrätt samliv, and with three songs on the compilation Pärlor, both released by Rosa Honung. The record company reissued the LP in 1998, now in CD format with a new cover and the title Carola – Standby.
Pontus Holmgren was the singer and frontman of Pontus & Amerikanerna during the 90s. Johan Norgren has later played with acts such as Ace of Base, Lena Philipsson and Legacy of Sound. He is the brother of guitarist Pontus Norgren in Hammerfall, previously in The Poodles, among others.
