Primitive Romance

Post punk band originally from the Tampa, Florida area. Primitive Romance was formed in 1981 by brothers Lester Esser and Allen Esser (formerly of the Tampa band The Strait-Jackets) and bassist Randall Barnwell. The band relocated to Boston, Massachusetts in the early 1980's. Randall Barnwell played with both Primitive Romance and Uzi from 1983-86, eventually reuniting with Lester Esser and Uzi bandmate Bob Young (aka Emerald Vein) to form A Scanner Darkly who would record an LP for Sub Rosa. Allen Esser would go on to record with Drumming on Glass.
