Mats Larsson

Swedish jazz guitarist, born 1958. He started playing drums when he was ten years old and switched to guitar influenced by rock music and mainly Jimi Hendrix. A few years later, the interest in jazz opened up and Mats joined bassist Lasse Andersson Q and played tours with, among others, cornetist Warren Vaché and Wild Bill Davidson. Mats trained as an improvisation teacher at the Stockholm Academy of Music and has worked as a guitar teacher at Lidingö Kulturskola. In addition to the Sweet Jazz Trio, Mats has over the years played with Gunnar Bergsten, Rolf Ericson, Finn Ziegler and Lars Erstrand.
