Taløs (also written Talos) is the primary artistic alias of Dimitris Christopoulos (born March 26, 1984, in Lamia, Greece), a prolific Greek black metal musician best known for his uncompromising vocal style, multi-instrumental versatility, and long-standing presence in the Hellenic extreme metal underground. Active since the early 2000s, Taløs has built a reputation as both a commanding frontman and a self-sufficient creator, frequently handling guitars, bass, and vocals alongside compositional duties. His work is defined by a raw yet disciplined aesthetic, blending ritualistic aggression, nihilistic introspection, and a distinctly Greek black metal ethos rooted in hostility, tradition, and spiritual conflict. Taløs is most prominently associated with Black Winter, where he has intermittently served as vocalist since 2007 and expanded his role to guitars and bass from 2012 through 2025. With Black Winter, he released the Virtual Vortex EP (2015) and the split Conscious Self Destruction of the New World (2016), works that exemplify his abrasive yet deliberate approach to songwriting. He has also been a live and studio contributor to Naer Mataron, performing guitars on the live album Nacht der drohenden Schatten (2016), further cementing his ties to Greece’s most ideologically driven black metal acts. His vocal presence extends to Soulless (7), where he contributed vocals during the band’s formative period, as well as to projects such as Prometheus (9), Bestial Entity, Malenka, and Archemoron, often under alternate pseudonyms like Meleager and Alcoholocausto. Earlier in his career, Christopoulos performed guitars for Sacred Blood on The Battle of Thermopylae: The Chronicle (2008), demonstrating a broader stylistic foundation beyond strict black metal. Across all projects, Taløs is recognized for his relentless work ethic, consistency, and refusal to dilute the extremity of his vision.
