American steel-guitar player, record producer, and record-label owner based out of Nashville, Tennessee. For the 1964 release "1951312" on Cumberland Records Pete used Dean Dallas due to contractual restrictions. He also was incorporating his own unique sound as a "Talking Steel Guitar" using the sound of a talking box while playing steel guitar was new in the 1960s, and it made the sounds of vocalizing along with the strings of the steel guitar. Owner and operator of , , and . Inducted in the Atlanta Country Music Hall of Fame (1990) and the Steel Guitar Hall of Fame (1987). He worked with Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Ringo Starr, Tammy Wynette, Joan Baez, Lynn Anderson, Elvis Presley and many other country and rock stars.
