Fonce Mizell first worked for Motown Records, co-writing several hits for The Jackson 5 including “I Want You Back,” “ABC,” and “The Love You Save.”
Through their Sky High Productions, the Mizell Brothers produced a series of jazz-funk and soul recordings for Blue Note and other labels, notably for Donald Byrd (Black Byrd, Places And Spaces), Bobbi Humphrey (Blacks And Blues, Fancy Dancer), Johnny Hammond (Gears), and Gary Bartz (Music Is My Sanctuary).
They also produced "Love To The World" by L.T.D. (1976) and A Taste of Honey self-titled LP (1978), which included the single “Boogie Oogie Oogie".
