Manuel Göttsching

German musician, born September 9, 1952 in Berlin; died December 4, 2022 in Berlin. Göttsching was hugely influencial with his E2-E4 album (recorded 1981, released 1984) and as a Krautrock guitarist. He had started his career in music at a young age, with various Berlin pop and blues bands in the late 1960s, including the Steeple Chase Bluesband. He became the mainstay of Ash Ra Tempel and Ashra, and also worked with The Cosmic Jokers, and other Kosmische Kuriere projects. In 1976 he established a project together with Michael Hoenig, and on numerous occasions he also played as a guest/collaborator along with Klaus Schulze. In 1976, he recorded his first album as only member of the band, New Age Of Earth. The same he did in 1978, only for live performances, he incorporated the other band members. In that stage, he also started to make music for fashion shows. In the 1980's, Ash Ra Tempel was again a real band, Göttsching started to record solo works in his own . There, he also started to produce various music for him and other artists.
