Essential Machine, is an indie rock trio from Pennsylvania, USA, consists of RJ Dietrich (guitar/vocals), Karen Dietrich (drums), and their son Robert Dietrich (keyboards/bass/vocals). Starting out in 2008 as a folk duo, they gradually evolved into a full-fledged band, incorporating synthesizers, indie rock elements, and influences from classic rock, 80s new wave, and post-punk.
