Dutch cartoonist and graphic designer working from Haarlem, the Netherlands. Born on December 24, 1947, in Heemstede, Noord Holland. Swarte is best known for his ligne claire or clear line style of drawing. He himself in fact coined the term. Father of Suze Swarte and Loulou Swarte.
