Uve Schikora und seine Gruppe

Formed as Uve Schikora-Combo by students at the Dresdner Musikhochschule "Carl-Maria von Weber" in 1968. They adopted various variations on the band name, becoming Uve Schikora und seine Gruppe in 1970. Leader Uve and organist Bernd Müller were the only ones remaining from the 1970 line-up when they recorded their debut album DAS GEWITTER, which is one of the few examples of DDR Krautrock, completely at odds with the vast part of their career as a schlager singer backing band.
