Hans-Egon Häußer was born on March 12, 1922 in Engers am Rhein (today Neuwied/Rh.). He studied piano, drums and music theory at the Robert Schumann Conservatory in Düsseldorf and worked as composer, arranger and band leader, especially in instrumental easy listening and orchestral dance music. He died on January 8, 2012 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
