Lawrence Brown

American jazz trombonist. Do not confuse this Brown with songwriter Lew Brown. For the pianist and arranger associated with Paul Robeson use Lawrence Brown (4). He played with Duke Ellington throughout most of his career as a balladeer, technical soloist, and section leader. Born August 3, 1907 in Kansas. Died in Los Angeles, California on September 5, 1988.
