Jännerwein (formerly known as 'Bund Neuland') is an Austrian Neofolk Band from Salzburg, which began as the project of MaxKTG in 2005/06. In 2007, two new members joined (Benjamin Sperling and Peter Feldl) and the group was renamed to Jännerwein, inspired by the almost mythological figure of the Wildschütz Jennerwein. In april 2008 their first Album "Abendläuten" was released on Steinklang Records and a series of well-received performances (including Wave-Gotik Treffen 2009 and 2012, Summer Darkness 2010) began. With the performance on Wave-Gotik-Treffen 2010, Beat Lenk joined the group as the permanent drummer and accordion player. In 2011, their second album "Nach der Sehnsucht. Von der Beständigkeit der Erinnerung." was released and Vurgart joined the band, first as a member for the live lineup, shortly after as a permanent member. The third album, originally expected to be released late 2013, was released in 2015.
