LA-based British-American guitarist/singer/songwriter/composer born on December 12, 1981 in London. Son of Dave Davies (guitarist of English rock band The Kinks). Daniel Davies, lead guitarist, singer, and son of Dave Davies from UK rock pioneers The Kinks, was born in London and spent his first nine years of life around the world with his father's band. Daniel relocated from London to Los Angeles with his family when he was thirteen years old. Three years later, his parents divorced, and Daniel moved in with his neighbor and godfather, director/composer John Carpenter, who raised him as his own child at his father's request. Daniel stayed with the Carpenters until he graduated from Hollywood High School. He then went out on his own to play music. Daniel formed/fronted his own hard rock / stoner band Year Long Disaster (active from 2004 to 2011). The group signed to the label Volcom Entertainment (a subsidiary of American lifestyle brand Volcom) in 2007, and released two albums, "Year long Disaster" (2007) and "Black Magic: All Mysteries Revealed" (2010). He briefly joined stoner rock band Karma to Burn, contributing to the albums "Appalachian Incantation" (2010) and "V" (2011). He then fronted the rock band CKY as a touring member in 2012 & 2015. Daniel started collaborating with John Carpenter & his son Cody Carpenter since the release of Carpenter's first non-soundtrack album, "Lost Themes" in 2015, which marked the beginning of the director's second career as a full-time musician and touring artist. In addition to releasing his own solo albums like "Signals" (2020) or "Spies" EP (2021), Daniel continued to collaborate with John & Cody Carpenter on projects like the scores for the films "Halloween Kills" (2021) & "Firestarter" (2022), and on all of John Carpenter's albums. He returned to rock music in 2024 with the solo album "Ghost of the Heart".
