Portuguese violinist, guitarist, arranger, composer, and conductor, born in Aveiro (1936) and died in Lisbon (2009). Was a classical violinist before turning to light-entertainment music. Became one of his country's most-sought after guitarists, record arrangers, and theatre conductors. In 1987, he was the musical director of the OTI Festival held in Lisbon. Three years later, conducted the orchestra for Dulce Pontes' performance of 'Lusitana paixão' in the Eurovision Song Contest.
