American guitarist born July 20, 1966 in Seattle, Washington. Rhythm and lead guitarist for Pearl Jam.
In 1984, he met Jeff Ament and joined the band, he played in, called Green River. In the end-1980's, both musicians were part of the formation of other three bands hailing from Seattle: Mother Love Bone, Temple of the Dog and Pearl Jam. In the latter band, he stayed for more than three decades.
In the early 1990's, he also became member of Brad, a band membership, which resulted from a rehearsal friendship in the phase of Mother Love Bone. In 2001, he released his first solo album.
Gossard also was songwriter within his bands, founded the label Loosegroove Records in 1994, together with Regan Hagar and was producer, mainly in connection with his self-owned Studio Litho in Seattle, which he founded in 1995.
