Mastodon is an American heavy metal band from Atlanta, Georgia, formed in January 2000 by Brent Hinds (guitar, vocals), Bill Kelliher (guitar), Troy Sanders (bass, vocals) and Brann Dailor (drums, vocals). The lineup briefly included Eric Saner (vocals), but he left after the band recorded their first demo. On March 7, 2025, Mastodon announced Brent Hinds' departure, and Ben Eller filled in for a concert two days later. Nick Johnston is currently playing guitar with the band.
