American Grammy Award-winning R&B/Soul Singer and Songwriter. Born in December 1, 1958 in Brooklyn, New York State, USA. Was a replacement member of The Crystals from 1980-1982. Toured with Luther Vandross, Tina Turner, Chaka Khan, The Rolling Stones. Signed to Elektra in 1988, released her debut solo album in 1991. Won a Grammy for the album's first single "335341." Was featured in the Oscar-winning documentary 20 Feet From Stardom.
