American blues guitarist and songwriter from Oak Cliff, Texas, born October 15, 1954. Formed Dallas, Texas, rock band Lightning (10) in 1974. Later was lead guitarist in Black Oak Arkansas (1996 - 2001) and for John Mayall's Bluesbreakers (2009 - 2016). Founded the The Rocky Athas Group in 2003.
