Guitarist and sound editor, mixer and designer in the San Francisco Bay Area. Currently part of acoustic duo Dandeline, he has also played with Evil Triplets, Solder of Fortune Cookie, Tiny, Carmaig de Forest, Mushroom, New E-Z Devils, and The Violets.
Olmsted studied film production at San Francisco State University, then joined the Saul Zaentz Company in Berkeley where he spent 15 years serving as a recordist, sound mixer and sound designer for films. He has worked as a sound editor for documentaries and films at the studio Berkeley Sound Artists and a mixer in the Documentary Film program at Stanford University, as well as teaching filmmaking and film sound classes at Bay Area colleges and universities.
