American singer, pianist, songwriter author & publisher. Born August 11, 1862 in Janesville, Wisconsin, USA. Died December 28, 1946 in Hollywood, California, USA. Jacobs-Bond composed some 175 pieces of popular music from 1890s through early 1940s. Perhaps best remembered for writing the parlor song "I Love You Truly", becoming the first woman to sell one million copies of a song. Another popular song of hers was "A Perfect Day". She formed The Bond Shop in 1894 to publish her music. She appeared in vaudeville, and gave concerts in Army Camps during WWI. Jacobs-Bond also was an author, including poetry and children's books of verse such as "Tales of Little Dogs" in 1921.
