Christos Kolokotronis was a Greek lyricist of the laïkó style. Born 25 December 1922 in Kallithea, Athens, Greece but raised in Glykomilea, Trikala, Greece - Died 12 November 1999 in Athens, Greece. In addition to laïkó songs, he wrote lyrics for light/easy listening, éntekhno and folk (dimotikó) songs, and, in some cases, he also wrote music. He also wrote under the pseudonyms Μ. Θεσσαλός (because of his origin?), Χρήστος Κύπριος, Α. Διαμαντής, etc., while on the record labels he also used the name of his wife Μέλπω Κολοκοτρώνη, and Σ(ωτήρης) Κολοκοτρώνης. He wrote lyrics to more than 100 songs for Στέλιος Καζαντζίδης. In the second half of the 1950s, he founded his own night clubs. From the 1970s and until the end of his life, he performed his songs himself, both in the clubs and on the records. Older brother of Θόδωρος Κολοκοτρώνης.
