Svenska Akademien

Swedish crossbreed of Hip Hop, Ragga & Dancehall group, formed in 1999 in Landskrona and dissolved in 2009, but announced in February 2013 that they intended to release new material and perform gigs in 2013. They performed live in 2022 at Skånsk Reggae festival. The name of the band reflects their interest in the Swedish language because the real "Svenska Akademien" releases the most famous Swedish dictionary. The band was started in 2001 as a trio but after the debut album "Med Anledning Av" was released, Leia Gärtner joined the band. When Akademien first formed in 1999 their name was PUGINS (Projekt Utan Gränser I Nordvästra Skåne) But was later changed before the release of their album Snapphaneklanen.
