Bruce "Utah" Phillips was an American labor organizer, folk singer, storyteller, poet and self-described "Golden Voice of the Great Southwest". His music describes the struggles of labor unions and the power of direct action, and the lives of working and poor people. A self-described anarchist, he often promoted the Industrial Workers of the World (IWW) in his music, actions and words. Hosted the nationally syndicated radio show "Loafers Glory" on KVMR Studio 89.5 Fm, Nevada City, CA from 1997 - 2001. Born May 15, 1935, Cleveland, Ohio, USA - died May 12, 2008, Nevada City, California, USA. Father of Duncan Phillips (3), Brendan Phillips (3).
