Peter Schaffer

American guitarist and songwriter from New Hampshire. Schaffer went to the Bay Area with his parents and he became part of the music scene in the 1960's. Eventually, he studies at Stanford and he took part in a exchange programme with the French university in Tours. On occasion, he met German Krautrock guitarist Wolfgang Michels and he joined his band Percewood's Onagram in 1972. Schaffer got his middle name "Conant" by Michels, who proposed, his name would sound "more American" by this addition. Schaffer stayed with the band until their split in 1974. In the mid 1970's, he returned to San Francisco. Michels moved with him to Bay area and Schaffer supported Michels from 1977 to 1979 as a guitarist on his solo albums in those years.
