Polish violinist born November 25, 1944 in Podkowa Lesna, General Governorate for the Occupied Polish Region as brother of Piotr Lachert. She immigrated to the USA in 1969. She joined the New York Philharmonic in 1972 and retired from that position in 2012. She was co-founder of the American Society for Polish Music in 1991 and was its president until 1997.
