Sound engineer born in New Orleans and raised in Texas. He was a recording engineer on Kelly Clarkson’s platinum single, “Miss Independent”. He also recorded the Grammy winning album “Red Dirt Girl” by Emmylou Harris While studying Audio Production at the University of Texas, In Austin. He began working as studio manager and chief engineer at Lone Star Studios, recording jingles and radio spots during the day and blues albums at night. After a brief time at Dockside Recording in Lafayette, LA where he worked on five albums including B.B. King's Blues On The Bayou, Jim returned to the city of his birth. While in New Orleans he engineered sessions at Kingsway Studio and recorded six albums with producer Malcolm Burn. In LA, Jim worked for pop producer Rhett Lawrence, including work on Kelly Clarkson's multi-platinum debut album Thankful before returning to independent production. he has recorded many other popular artists including Natalie Maines and Ben Harper.
