Cristóbal Jiménez

Venezuelan folk singer, composer, and revolutionary politician. He frequently performed his songs with Hugo Cávez He promoted of the new Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and defended Miraflores Palace during the 2002 coup. Elected as a deputy to the National Assembly in 2005. In 2006 he was appointed President of the Subcommittee on Culture and Historical Heritage of the Permanent Commission on Education, Culture, Sports and Recreation. In 2016 Jiménez was re-elected to the assembly as a member of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela.
